Will carpet cleaning kill bed bugs?
While a lot of people think steam carpet cleaning will kill bed bugs and it will take care of the problem, that is actually not the case.
Steam carpet cleaning does nothing to get rid of bed bugs. There really is no such thing as bed bug carpet cleaning. The steam from cleaning machine simply does not reach sufficient temperature to exterminate the bedbugs. Steam cleaning your carpets won’t fix the problem, it may only reduce it temporarily.
There are some steps you can take to reduce the presence of bed bugs and sometimes eliminate the problem completely. Make sure to clean your residence well, and prevent hiding places for bedbugs. Always check along the baseboards, piles of clothes, your mattresses, and even in furniture drawers.
